About IrenDesign Handmade

My name is Iren. I have always loved being creative and making things. It was 3 years ago, when my 5-year-old son got interested in clay sculpting and insisted on getting some "coloured" clay. We found this coloured - polymer clay on the internet. When I saw the material,  I thought - "I could work with that! " It would be a fun way for me to have a creative outlet.  After some thought, I bought polymer clay, watched a few Youtube tutorial videos and began to create at my little home workshop. I think Polymer clay is a magical medium and has endless possibilities.  I branded my works as IrenDesign Handmade and started selling them via my blog and my facebook page.
My first project was tiny polymer clay book pendants.
I went on with wine-themed souvenirs, made of polymer clay and metal. The collection consists of original miniature Georgian qvevris and wine bottles, promoting Georgian grape varieties. They proved to be special gifts for wine lovers. They are highly detailed, showing the amount of love and effort invested in them. 
Being an art historian, my inspiration often comes from the works of my favourite painters. Hence, every single piece is a reflection of my inner feelings, imagination and state of mind. Details and fragments from the works of Klimt, Van Gogh, Miro, Mucha, Girlandaio, Pirosmani transform into jewelry design, and are reflected on pendants, earrings and rings.
My works speak of me best: they talk about who I am, what I like and what enriches me spiritually: painting, literature, music, decorative arts, people around me, as well as objects, silhouettes and emotions related to them.
I am glad to have discovered that my works touched the hearts of many people. I was first pleasantly surprised that a small collection of my works travelled to Japan. I get orders of jewelry as wedding and birthday gifts. It makes me happy to see that people identify themselves with the topics/themes I choose for my works. Irendesign Handmade enjoys publicity: I get invited to speak on television and radio. I have ... subscribers and followers on the internet. My works are available for sale on several locations:

IrenDesign - პოლიმერული თიხის სამკაულები

IrenDesign სახელწოდება სპონტანურად გაჩნდა, ვფიქრობ, მარტივად და ზუსტად გამოხატავს იმას, რასაც ვქმნი. აქამდე ძირითადად საბავშვო აქსესუარებზე ვმუშაობდი, მომწონდა რასაც ვაკეთებდი, თუმცა გონებაში სულ მიტრიალებდა ჩემთვის საინტერესო მოტივებზე სამკაულების შექმნა. მერე ისე მოხდა, რომ აღმოვაჩინე პოლიმერული თიხა “fimo”- ეფექტური, დამყოლი და გამძლე მასალა, სამკაულების შესაქმნელად იდეალურია.

პირველად სულაც არ მიფიქრია რაიმეს გაყიდვა, მართალი გითხრათ, ცოტა მენანებოდა კიდეც, უბრალოდ ხალისით და სიამოვნებით ვმუშაობდი. ერთგვარი „ფიმო-თერაპია“ შემოვიდა ჩემს ცხოვრებაში. თუმცა, როგორც კი ბლოგზე გამოვაქვეყნე  ნამუშევრების სურათები, მეგობრებისა და უცხო ადამიანების მოწონებამ ენთუზიაზმი გამიძლიერა, მალევე ახალი შეკვეთებიც მივიღე. ასე დაიწყო ჩემი პატარა ბიზნესი.

ჩემი ნამუშევრები არის ის, რაც ვარ და მიყვარს:  მხატვრობა, ლიტერატურა, მუსიკა, დეკორატიული ხელოვნება, ნაცნობი ადამიანები, საყვარელი ნივთები, სილუეტები, მათთან დაკავშირებული ემოციები, ბუნება, დიზაინი...

რამდენიმე თვეა რაც პოლიმერული თიხაში მუშაობა დავიწყე და ვეღარ ვწყდები. არის მასში რაღაც მაგიურ-თერაპიული. ძალიან მოკლე დროში სამაკულების კეთება ჩემი საყვარელი მთავარი საქმე გახდა, საქმე რომელიც ბედნიერს მხდის. და მოხარული ვიქნები, საშუალება თუ მომეცემა ეს ემოცია სხვებსაც გავუზიარო.
